Juice Lubes @ Bikegoo

A bit slow on the write up here as we've been stocking the Juice Lubes Super Gnarl cleaner for ages now, but nevertheless... Juice Lubes have arrived at Bikegoo! The range currently consists of a cleaner and two lubes (they make a cracking "fork juice" too but alas due to Royal Mail restrictions about posting aerosols, its not one we can currently stock).

So, we have the Super Gnarl cleaner, the Ceramic Juice chain lube and the Chain Juice. The Super Gnarl is a concentrated cleaner that can be diluted up to 10 times. So from one bottle you get 10 litres of normal strength cleaner. Excellent value and the performance is great too. It got a thorough usage after our recent jaunt to the Muc-Off 8 and a couple of bikes were not a pretty sight! This stuff worked like a charm (even though I think we watered it down a little more than we should have!).

The Muc-Off 8 saw a thorough testing of Chain Juice too, the wet lube from Juice Lubes. Its thick and stays put and is great value. I have to give a bit of praise to the wonderfully designed nozzle on the bottle with a twist open/close system that is vastly useful.

The final product is the Ceramic juice, a thinner cloudy lube with a complicated make up of all sorts of technological bits and bobs. Its meant for dry to moist conditions and claims to improve shifting performance. If it does that it is worth its weight in gold! It will be getting a thorough testing over the next few weeks but initial impressions are good.

If you're interested get your hands on some right here at Bikegoo!

Cheers

Bikegoo @ the Muc-Off 8 Enduro

Last weekend Bikegoo headed over to Pippingford Park in Nutley (literally round the corner from our workshop in Hartfield) to compete in the Muc Off 8 hour enduro MTB race. Bikegoo teamed up with our local riding buddies Days of Speed to form three teams.

And it was quite bloody tough. The route was very up and down with some severe muddy sections that sapped the legs and made things a little more gooey. There were some really enjoyable points too including some nice riverside singletrack and a couple of swoopy downhills. You don't get that sort of thing at the other more well known enduro events!

Overall our teams finished 51st, 69th and 87th (that includes a 4th place in the Mens Vets Teams category). Brilliant results and a very enjoyable day. Well organised, good course (if only it had been a little drier!) and good fun.

Roll on the next one. We'll be there!
